In case you’re not familiar with Best Friends, they are a terrific non-profit animal welfare organization that rescues homeless animals.
They pioneered the no-kill movement over 30 years ago, and their initiatives focus on animals likely to enter America’s shelter system. They work on outreach programs with shelters, other rescue groups to promote pet adoption and spay-and-neuter services. They are currently leading No-Kill Los Angeles (NKLA), a citywide initiative to turn Los Angeles into a no-kill community by 2017.
